Abstract

Di Indonesia, kebutuhan akan kemasan, khususnya jenis PP Woven Bags dan FIBC, terus meningkat seiring dengan pertumbuhan industri dan perdagangan. Persaingan di sektor ini semakin ketat, memaksa perusahaan untuk terus beradaptasi dan menerapkan metode terbaik agar tetap bertahan dan unggul. Dalam menghadapi tantangan ini, pendekatan lean 7 waste dan penerapan warehouse management system (WMS) muncul sebagai solusi utama. Pendekatan lean 7 waste memfokuskan pada identifikasi dan pengurangan tujuh jenis pemborosan yang dapat mengganggu efisiensi operasional, yakni pemborosan waktu, bahan, tenaga kerja, inventaris, gerakan, proses, dan cacat produksi. Penerapan WMS, di sisi lain, bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengelolaan inventaris dan aliran barang di gudang, sehingga mempercepat proses distribusi dan mengurangi biaya operasional. Dalam pengabdian ini karyawan dilatih untuk mampu mengidentifikasi pemborosan dan menerapkan perbaikan dengan menggunakan alat-alat lean seperti value stream mapping, 5S, dan kaizen. Metode penyampaian materi dilakukan dengan dua pendekatan, yaitu pemahaman teori dan pelaksanaan praktek di lapangan dengan cara mengidentifikasi aneka pemborosan dan melakukan perbaikan saat itu juga. Pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman akan lean dan WMS kepada karyawan secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan daya saing perusahaan kemasan di Indonesia, memungkinkan mereka untuk beradaptasi dengan perubahan pasar dan tetap relevan dalam industri yang kompetitif ini.
