Retention is part of the cash inflow payment component for the project. Its role is to ensure the execution of work following the agreement. Retention has the effect of reducing cash inflows during construction and delaying it until the retention release schedule. This study aims to describe and evaluate the effect of retention on cash inflows. Primary data collection is in the form of project internal documents from construction service providers. The construction period lasts 14 months, the maintenance period lasts 1 year and the incoming cash from releasing retention money takes place in the 27th month. From the analysis and discussion of the data, it was found that the construction implementation was going well where there were no delays in the maintenance period and delays in the retention release schedule. From the results of the study, it is recommended that construction service providers maximize the invoice collection period to increase project cash inflows.
